A Fire Safety Compliance Audit is conducted to assist the Owner/Occupier in the management of the compliance with the current Fire Laws and Regulations. An AUDIT will provide you with a comprehensive report detailing the current level of compliance / non compliance of your building. The report will detail the area of non compliance, mentioning the appropriate regulation or standard that is in breach. The audit report will also provide a list of recommendations to assist you to achieve compliance with the current Fire Safety Laws and regulations.

Third Party Fire System Certification
Fire Matters Third Party Audits are a comprehensive review of the Fire Safety Installations within your building, the fire audits will determine if your fire systems meet the relevant performance requirements set out in legislation and Australian Standards.
Importantly, the assessment is carried out by an independent, third party organisation that is qualified and licensed to issue certification when the assessment is successfully completed. Fire Matters auditors are industry experts and hold the correct license to certify the installation and maintenance compliance.
Fire Safety Installations require some level of fire safety certification, this can be in regards to installation or maintenance compliance annually.

AS1851-2012 Annual Survey
The Survey should be conducted by Fire System Certifier
AS1851-2012 sets out the requirement for an annual survey on each prescribed fire safety installation by a competent person. The Survey is a visual inspection to identify if fire protection systems or equipment have been altered, damaged or compromised, or the fire systems performance as been degraded by occupancy changes or building alterations.
Benefits:
In order to comply with the requirements of AS1851-2012, the survey must be conducted by a person holding the QBCC rectifier license in the respective Fire Safety Installation. This survey together with the inspection, test and preventive maintenance regime demonstrates that the fire protection systems or equipment are functional and capable of performing to a standard not less than that to which they were originally designed. Any identified non compliance’s can be rectified prior to “signing off” the annual occupier statement.

Means of Egress Audits

Fire Matters can assess the mandatory requirements of your buildings “Means of Egress”, that not only ensure your level of compliance but offering you Third Party confirmation. Fire Matters can also advice on the rectification of any shortfalls. Fire Matters “Means of Egress” audits encompasses all defined elements, such as Paths of Travel, Exit Doors, Discharge of Exits as well as other contributing factors such as trip hazards and exit signage requirements.

Passive Fire Safety Audits

Passive fire safety installations within a building are quite often over-looked. Fire Matters passive fire compliance audits are conducted on a third party basis, that sets us apart from our competitors. Passive fire audits can often uncover a volume of problems, however our audits will not only highlight any items of concern, but also provide a forward-thinking method to rectify any issue. Our audits are conducted by industry professionals who will apply the correct performance criteria applicable to your building.
Full Function Test
Where fire protection systems are interfaced, the correct operation of the interfaced systems must be confirmed annually
The Full Function Test or System Interface Tests considers all fire protection systems that interface with other systems, and test these in accordance with the buildings approved Fire Matrix to ensure and confirm correct operation.
Annual System Interface Test typically involves:
Review system design and specification documentation and Cause and Effect matrices
Pretest meeting with all contractors to confirm systems operation and develop test
Report including defects prioritised in accordance to the life safety and property protection
Baseline Data Audit
Baseline data is necessary to confirm the performance benchmarks of your Fire Safety Installations against the approved designed. Baseline Data’s inception is at the design and commissioning stages and assist the Service Provider to confirm that the installation still complies with the original performances requirements. Fire Matters baseline data audit are designed to gather the available information and provide a cost effective solution.
It includes, but is not limited to:
- System layout drawings, system specifications, equipment datasheets, hazard classes,
- System interface diagrams, duty points, cause and effect charts, completion certificates
- Pipe layouts, device type, sections, details, elevations, commissioning test results,
- Block plans, water supply details, reports and consents, alternative solutions, and so on.
